The Demo Day provides a structured insight into how movement, posture, tension and behaviour are connected – and how these patterns can be analysed and influenced in practice.
Using live horses, Nicole demonstrates how to:
* identify early compensation and overload patterns
* read posture, movement quality and muscular tension
* understand the role of the nervous system in training and behaviour
* apply targeted interventions to improve regulation and movement
The focus is not on isolated techniques, but on understanding the underlying system – so that changes become logical, repeatable and sustainable.
Participants will gain practical tools they can immediately apply in their daily work – regardless of discipline, breed or level.
Whether you work from the ground, in hand, or under saddle, the principles remain the same: clear communication, functional movement and a horse that is able to regulate and respond.
Nicole Weinauge is an international equine health specialist, trainer and therapist with over 30 years of experience working with horses and their people across Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the USA.
Her work is defined by a precise, system-based approach that integrates biomechanics, fascia, nervous system regulation and training into one functional framework.
Rather than addressing isolated symptoms, she analyses how movement, posture, internal tension, metabolic state and human influence interact – and works at the level where these patterns are created.
Her focus lies in developing horses that are not only rideable, but physically resilient, mentally regulated and capable of sustainable performance.
HER APPROACH
Health is not created through control or correction.
It emerges when structure, movement, regulation and training are aligned in a way the horse can physically and neurologically process.
The goal is not to “fix” the horse – but to create the conditions in which healthy function, learning and long-term development become possible.
BACKGROUND
* Classical dressage education up to Grand Prix level
* Specialization in French classical riding principles
* Advanced work in biotensegrity, fascia research and integrative movement science* Ongoing studies in anatomy, biomechanics and neurophysiology* Certified equine therapist with integrative, system-based approach* International educator for riders, trainers and professionals
1. The Horse as a Biotensegral System
Why posture alone is not enough
Force vs. load distribution
Fascia as a communication and stability system
Typical training-induced overload patterns
2. Posture vs. Movement – What Creates Health?
Why “correct posture” without functional movement leads to pathology
How compensation patterns develop
Recognizing early warning signs before injury occurs
3. Nervous System, Stress & Performance
Sympathetic dominance and chronic tension
How stress alters movement, fascia and learning
Why relaxation is not laziness – but neurological necessity
4. Longevity Instead of Wear & Tear
Training strategies for long-term soundness
Why many horses break down despite “correct training”
Rethinking intensity, repetition and progression
Showing a horse in training
1. Movement Analysis (Live Horse)
Reading posture, movement and compensation patterns
Identifying fascial tension lines
Understanding what the horse shows before pain appears
2. Fascia-Based Intervention
Demonstration of myofascial release techniques
Effects on movement, breathing and posture Immediate changes participants can observe
3. Biotensegral Training Principles in Practice Exercises that improve stability without force Supporting self-carriage, coordination and elastic
load distribution
Groundwork and ridden examples (depending on location)
4. Nervous System Regulation in Practice
How simple changes in handling and approach alter regulationReading stress signals correctly creating safety as the basis for learning
